FDA Labeling

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has several labeling standards and regulations that companies in various industries must adhere to. TEKLYNX offers a variety of barcode labeling solutions designed to help you comply with FDA labeling standards.

One FDA labeling regulation is the new Nutrition Facts label for packaged foods, required to be used by manufacturers within the US, or those exporting goods into the US, by 1/1/2020 (proposed).

Another FDA labeling regulation is the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) Final Rule for Preventive Controls for Human Food, which required food manufacturers to establish and implement a food safety system that includes an analysis of hazards and risk-based preventive controls.

FDA labeling regulations within the healthcare and pharmaceutical industries include Unique Device Identification (UDI), which requires that all medical devices distributed in the United States by labeled with a UDI, comprised of a unique numeric or alphanumeric code that is used to identify medical devices within the supply chain. FDA 21 CFR Part 11, product serialization, lab sample tracking, and medication labeling are also important standards.
