Yes. A perpetual license is yours and does not expire. You can continue using the software as long as your hardware and business systems support it.
If you're running an older software version and your hardware fails, you may be unable to reinstall or reactivate the software if installation files are no longer available. To reduce the risk, maintain an active SMA or switch to a subscription license.
SMAs ensure your perpetual license investment is protected, and you have access to free priority technical support. If you don’t have an active SMA but are using the most current version of your software, there is a pay per incident fee for technical support.
All electronic licenses come with five license transfers at the time of purchase. If you have an active Software Maintenance Agreement (SMA), you can request additional license transfers as needed.
Yes. Moving from a perpetual license to a subscription license is possible. While there’s a cost to make the switch, many customers choose subscription for its predictable costs, making budget planning easier and eliminating unexpected upgrade expenses.
Note: A new subscription license will be issued, and the original perpetual license will be disabled after 30 days.
