Printer Support
LABELVIEW supports over 1750 specialized thermal and thermal-transfer label printers and any
printer with a valid Windows driver supplied by the manufacturer. Printer drivers included with
LABELVIEW are installed to the program's Drivers directory when the program is installed. Some
printers include both a native driver and an extended driver for the same printer model, designated in
the program as follows:
(V) = Driver is a native software driver (developed specifically for use with this label design software)
(X) = Driver is from an extended driver set (giving you access to the driver's advanced properties)

Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) Support

• LABELVIEW's RFID features allow you to program andprint both HF and UHF radio frequency identificationlabels, including tags to meet EPC, major retailer and DoD compliance standards.
• LABELVIEW also gives you the ability to use a graphical tag image that appears as a watermark on labels to protect against printing over and damaging the RFID tags.

What databases does LABELVIEW Support?
LABELVIEW supports all popular database types using OLE DB, ODBC or  ASCII connections, including: ASCII (comma, tab and quote delimited), DB2, dBase, FoxPro, Informix, Lotus Smart Suite, Microsoft Office, Oracle, Paradox, SQL and others.

What Edition of LABELVIEW do I need?
There are three editions of LABELVIEW to choose from: 

• LABELVIEW Basic is an entry level label design package limited to 25 objects on a label and no database support.  The Basic edition is an affordable option for occasional label printing, especially when the information does not change.
• LABELVIEW Pro is recommended for on-demand label printing initiated at print time.
• LABELVIEW Gold is the high-end edition and includes advanced design, integration and automation tools.

How is LABELVIEW licensed?
LABELVIEW single user installations are licensed on a design station basis, however, you can print to an unlimited number of printers on your network.  

The Network version of LABELVIEW is licensed by concurrent users, and not per seat.  This means you can install the software on as many PCs as you need, however, the licensing will limit how many users can access it at the same time.  

LABELVIEW RunTime (Print Only) licensing options are available with the Enterprise version.  RunTime is limited to only opening and printing labels; you cannot add, move, delete or edit fields on a label. 

What languages is LABELVIEW available in?

Can I try LABELVIEW before I buy it?
Yes, you can download a demo of LABELVIEW to see the full functionality of the product.  This is a full product that can run in a LABELVIEW Basic, LABELVIEW Pro, or LABELVIEW Gold mode. The demo is good for 30 days, or 100 executions of the program.   Limitations of the demo include:

• Print to File (output printer code to file)
• Print to Picture (output label format as a graphic)
• OLE Automation (automated printing from another application)  

If these features are needed for comprehensive preproduction testing, TEKLYNX does offer a 30 day return policy.  

When you decide to purchase LABELVIEW, you will receive an activation code that will allow you to unlock your free demo into a fully licensed product.  You do not need to reinstall the program.

Can LABELVIEW automatically print a label when I scan a bar code or add a record to my database?
Yes, LABELVIEW includes a number of setup and configuration options that can be used to automate label printing. 

Can LABELVIEW printing be triggered by a serial device or scale?
Yes, LABELVIEW Gold includes a tool called CommWatch which can be configured to retrieve data from peripheral devices - such as bar code readers, weighing machines, and thermometers.  CommWatch allows a label to include inputs from multiple devices and COM (serial) ports.  

Is there a quick way to print labels without having to open LABELVIEW?
LABELVIEW Gold includes a feature called Click Print that displays a full screen of small preview pictures of every label.  You can click a preview of the label and have it print to either a predefined printer, or send to whichever printer needs those labels. 

I am an existing LABELVIEW user with version 7 or earlier, why should I upgrade?
