Codabar is a discrete, self-checking, variable-length symbology that was developed in 1972. Codabar is commonly used in blood banks and libraries. Codabar uses four different start/stop characters that are encoded as one bar and two spaces.
Codabar supports the following characters:

- Symbols $ : / . + -
