Mademoiselle Desserts is a premium sweet bakery manufacturer, supplying a wide range of products—including pastries, cakes, muffins, cookies, and more—to retail and foodservice companies across the world. Headquartered in Montigny-le-Bretonneux, France, the Mademoiselle Desserts group operates seven production sites in France, and five sites in the UK, the Netherlands, and Belgium.
With approximately 1,900 employees and an annual business income of €350 million ($395 million), the company faced increasing difficulty in managing its operations due to the use of nearly one Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system per factory.
Upon reviewing their systems, Mademoiselle Desserts identified a need for functional enhancements—particularly in labeling. Labeling has traditionally been viewed as a subset of manufacturing, but it is a critical component for ensuring traceability. One of their main labeling complexities was needing to integrate data onto labels from multiple systems.
To address these challenges, Mademoiselle Desserts launched a project to industrialize processes, modernize labeling tools, resolve system instabilities, and standardize label templates across the organization. The goal was to provide all teams with a functional and optimized labeling solution.
Having previously worked with Barcodis, a trusted TEKLYNX software reseller and partner with proven expertise in labeling, traceability and automatic identification solutions, Mademoiselle Desserts chose them again for this initiative. The project involved transitioning to a new ERP system and implementing a Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system. The objective was to integrate the ERP (Sage X3) and PLM systems with a centralized labeling solution.
Since the company was already using CODESOFT and had some familiarity with SENTINEL, they opted to implement TEKLYNX CENTRAL—an all-in-one solution that combines label design, approval, printing, and reporting and uses a browser-based label printing interface.
By integrating data from multiple systems, where manufacturing data came from Sage X3 and recipe and nutritional information came from another tool, Mademoiselle Desserts was able to consolidate this data onto a single, accurate label.
The collaboration with Barcodis was smooth and effective. Their team demonstrated a deep understanding of the challenges and provided actionable solutions. Knowledge transfer happened step by step throughout the project, ensuring the Mademoiselle Desserts team was equipped to manage the labeling system independently.
Today, TEKLYNX CENTRAL is fully deployed and functional. Support interactions with Barcodis are minimal, as the system runs efficiently in its operational phase.
