Inside Sales Intern

Job Summary: The Inside Sales Intern expands end user relationships by promoting the value of TEKLYNX’ Software Maintenance Agreement (SMA) as well as subscription licensing. On a daily basis, this individual encourages unregistered end users to register in order to take advantage of the numerous benefits of the SMA. This position is also responsible for calling SMA customers in a renewal situation where they have either not paid for their renewal or were not even aware there was a renewal. This requires calling and speaking with the software user in an effort to educate them on the benefits they are losing while the invoice remains outstanding or unpaid. The Inside Sales Intern role is heavily outbound call focused, making 50-60 calls per day, while sending and responding to e-mail inquiries, phone transfers from Customer Service or Tech Support, and managing dispute resolution for unpaid contracts. This individual will be responsible for seeking payment for SMA’s utilizing multiple business systems including, but not limited to: CRM, an invoicing system, the SMACenter website, credit card processing system and our advanced phone system.

Job Requirements: The candidate must possess excellent communication skills and have the ability to articulate the value of the Software Maintenance Agreement as well as the option of converting the customer to TEKLYNX Subscription Licensing from a perpetual license, as a subscription license will include the value of the SMA. A customer friendly attitude and willingness to reach out to customers and sell both tactical and solution value/benefit ideas are important. This individual will also need to be goal oriented and have the ability to thrive in a team environment, while acting as an individual contributor. Attention to detail and the ability to thoroughly track interactions (phone/e-mail/chat) are required. Lastly, he/she must be detail oriented with a strong ability to handle several tasks at a time. The ideal candidate is pursuing a business degree with some technical emphasis. Career paths may include Sales or Marketing.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Part time - Making an average of 8 outbound calls per hour minimum
  • Achieve assigned revenue target by promoting the registration of the SMA and payment of invoice
  • Develops a rapport with customers by speaking to the appropriate contact within the company
  • Educates end users on the benefits of the TEKLYNX Software Maintenance Agreement and/or TEKLYNX Subscription Licensing
  • Improves the integrity of our customer data by capturing contact names, phone numbers, e-mail addresses and titles
  • Clearly understands the value of the SMA and/or subscription licensing and can articulate the difference to the customer
  • Manages the renewal process for the SMA and to ensure we are maximizing revenue while delivering solutions that provide value
  • Comfortable following a pre-determined process and tool to track interactions
  • Comfortable using phone systems
  • Works closely with Customer Care to ensure SMA's are registered
  • Works very closely with sales teams to understand implications for customer's needs and clearly articulates the value of renewals
  • Creates a weekly/monthly plan (based on expiration notifications - those who we have to call to sell the renewal or convert to subscription)
  • ALWAYS BE CLOSING - always look for opportunity to cross-sell and up-sell other TEKLYNX products and services
  • Advocate for all Customer Care, Inside Sales, Sales Management to drive the value and the benefit of maintenance
