Objective/Requirements:
A label and packaging supplier was looking for an application that would send two label formats to a print and apply unit. The two label formats may vary depending on the customer, so the application was required to query a database to collect label formats and data for both labels in each set.
Solution:
TEKLYNX Professional Services provided an automated LABELVIEW label design printing application to send two label formats to the print and apply machine. The operator either scans or types in an item number that identifies the job. The item number is used to query a DBF database which contains information on what labels to use for that particular customer and all of the required field data for the label. LABELVIEW displays a preview of the two labels that will be printed and prompts the operator. The operator types in the lot number and enters the number of boxes to be labeled, then presses the print button. The print and apply machine receives the properly formatted labels.
