A cell phone accessories vendor selling goods at tradeshows needed to find a better way of tracking the products sold at each show. Their current system consisted of a cumbersome paper-based inventory system that required the vendor's tradeshow staff to manually write up inventory reports and invoice receipts.

This vendor’s problem was solved using IDEAM mobile enterprise application development software on both the mobile device (client) and server sides. IDEAM’s application development tools enable real-time connectivity to systems from mobile devices using WiFi or GPRS communication.
The mobile application solution is connected to the vendor’s ERP and inventory system. The vendor uses an application powered by IDEAM on his/her smart phone/PDA/mobile device to look up an item by its part number. Results are returned in real time, including data on stock quantities and which warehouse location is storing the items. The vendor can then place an order for the items directly from their mobile device and print a customer invoice directly to a Bluetooth or WiFi-connected printer.
The cell phone accessories vendor now operates far more efficiently using access to real-time inventory information. They can enter invoice information on their host system
in real-time and print invoices directly at the point of purchase. Now that orders are placed in real-time, they no longer have to reconcile handwritten paper invoices with the host system.
