Objective/Requirements:
This company in the chemical industry was looking for an application that would allow users to have an easy interface to print labels using a product identifier. The application needed to also allow users to add, modify or delete records from the Microsoft Access database.
Solution:
TEKLYNX Professional Services developed a LABELVIEW label design and printing software application that enables users to scan or select an encode number. The application searches the Access database for the number and returns all of the related data. Users enter the quantity, select the printer, view an enlarged preview and print the labels. Users can also add, modify, or delete records in the Access database through LABELVIEW. This approach gives users an easy interface and ensures that field entries are correct since each field counts down how many characters can be entered, preventing “illegal” field entries from being added to the database. The application is password protected.

- Items can be selected via a scan or encode number
- User controls printing quantity and preview
- A Microsoft Access database can be modified using a custom front-end interface to LABELVIEW
- The custom front-end ensures that data fields are entered correctly
