TEKLYNX DRIVER SERVICE PACK QUICK START

The TEKLYNX Driver Service Pack (DSP) allows you to download updated printer drivers for your specific model of printer. No software upgrades or complex install steps are necessary – simply download the driver update files (packaged in a .ZIP file) and extract them to your labeling software's root directory.

Downloading and Installing Drivers



Note: Depending on your version of Windows® and web browser, the screens appearing during the download and install may differ slightly from those shown below.


  1. Go to http://www.teklynx.com
  2. From the Download Center menu, select Files & Updates=>Driver Service Pack.
  3. Click either the LABEL MATRIX, LABELVIEW or CODESOFT product box.



  4. In the scroll list of printer families on the right, click on a printer family to view all available drivers for the models in that family.
    Note: You can mouse over a driver file to view its version number.



  5. Click once on each desired model to select it. You can select up to 25 different models.
  6. Selected models will appear in the box below the scroll list. Once you have selected all desired models, click Next. A screen appears with a listing of the Family and Model for each selected printer.



  7. Click the Download button.
    The File Download dialog box appears.



  8. Click Save to save the file to your computer. The Save As dialog box appears.



    Save the .ZIP file to your Desktop or to a temporary folder on your PC.
  9. Once it has been saved successfully, locate the .ZIP file and double-click on it to open it.
    Note: If the Open With… dialog box appears at this point, you may need to install a file compression program (like PKZip or WinZip) in order to successfully open the .ZIP file. Free evaluation versions of these programs can be downloaded from the Web.
  10. With your labeling software program closed, extract the contents of the .ZIP file to one of the following directories:
    • If you are using LABELVIEW 7.x, extract the files to C:\LVWIN70\
    • If you are using LABELVIEW 8.x, extract the files to C:\Program Files\LV8\
    • If you are using CODESOFT 6.x, extract the files to C:\Program Files\CS6\
    • If you are using CODESOFT 7.x, extract the files to C:\Program Files\Tki\7\Common\Devices\
    • If you are using CODESOFT 8.x, extract the files to C:\Program Files\Tki\8\Common\Devices\
    • If you are using LABEL MATRIX 7.x, extract the files to C:\Program Files\LABEL MATRIX PowerPro\ or C:\Program Files\LABEL MATRIX\ .




Note: The exact steps required to unzip the file will depend on the type of file compression program used to unzip the file.
With the .ZIP file successfully extracted, your labeling software is now updated with the new driver files.
