PRINT DESCRIPTION AND SHIPPING LABELS FROM SAME REQUEST

Objective/Requirements:
A packaging company sought an application to print two labels – a shipping label and a description label – alternately, but wanted to be able to override the system to print only the shipping label on demand.

Solution:
TEKLYNX Professional Services developed a LABELVIEW label design and printing software application that sends label information to a combo printer port that serves both a printer and a printer/applicator. LABELVIEW searches the DBF database for all of the related data and prints both labels when the user initiates the request by keying in or selecting an item number. The user can also select the quantity to be printed. LABELVIEW alternates between label A and label B unless the disable description label is checked which causes the system to only print label A (the shipping label).

Application Solution using LABELVIEW:
  • Allows administrators to define combo printer ports
  • Single item selection triggers two printing events
  • Dual printing can be overridden to print only shipping labels
