How can I configure Label Inventory Tracking to monitor label stock across my network?
If you have not already configured LABELVIEW to track your labels, refer to the directions for configuring label inventory tracking. After you have completed the initial configuration, proceed with Step 1 below.

  1. On the file menu select Options and click on Label Inventory. The label inventory dialog box will open.

  2. Select an existing label format and click Edit.

  3. Change the Stock File Type to Network.

  4. The network directory path box will be enabled. Enter the full network path to the shared folder in which you will store the tracking files. Be sure to complete this step, even if the location is a local directory on that PC.
When you are finished with the configuration, click OK to save and exit the dialog box.

  5. To configure other PCs on your network to use the same tracking file, open the Label Inventory dialog box on each client PC and click Import. The import dialog will open.

  6. Click the elipses button to find the shared folder containing the label inventory files you wish to use.

  7. When you locate the target directory, select it and click OK. The full network path will be added to the import dialog box.

  8. LABELVIEW will detect the inventory tracking files in the directory you selected. Highlight the desired tracking file and click OK.

  9. Click Exit to close the Inventory Tracking dialog box.

Note: Importing is not always necessary. If a label that has already been configured to track inventory stock on a network is moved to a different PC, LABELVIEW will automatically detect and import the network inventory stock information.
