How can I integrate the data on my labels with my other applications?
You can integrate label data with other programs using Database Access, LMWPrint, AutoPrint or Write Data.
Accessing Multiple Databases

LABEL MATRIX reads data from database files of the following type via an ODBC or OLE DB connection. If your program can produce an ASCI Text file or any one of these file types, LABEL MATRIX can connect to the data to print labels.

Microsoft Access
Microsoft Excel
dBase
Text
Foxpro
Visual Foxpro
Informix
Paradox
Oracle 7
Oracle Lite
SQL Server
SQL Anywhere
Lotus Approach
Lotus Notes

Using the Stand Alone Print Engine to Print Labels Via the Command Line:
The LMWPrint.exe stand alone print engine can be used to print labels from a command line. Assuming you are accessing data from at least one database, once the database file is connected by ODBC or OLE DB in the LABEL MATRIX program, it then can be printed via an LMWPRINT command from a command line (without opening LABEL MATRIX). The command parameters for LMWPrint are available in the LABEL MATRIX Help menu by selecting Contents and then searching on “LMWPrint commands. Note: LMWPrint.exe is NOT included in the demo version of LABEL MATRIX.

Automatic Printing of Data from a Source Database:
The AutoPrint feature enables you to print labels based on data that is constantly changing. It allows the automation of print jobs where data files are sent from a mainframe or an accounting or manufacturing process. AutoPrint seeks the data when available, prints, and then deletes the current file in anticipation of the next batch of data to come. Note: The AutoPrint feature may only be used with one dBase or ASCII file set up with sequential access. The data file you select must be a database that can be deleted, as this file WILL BE DELETED after all records in that database are printed.

Writing Data to a File:
The Write Data tab allows you to write both the image data and/or the variable information from databases, counters or keyboard inputs to a comma delimited text file. This ability to export the label's data is useful for facilitating print job reruns or activity audits. To access the write to file options, select Label Properties from the File menu or double-click within the white space on the design screen to bring up the Label Properties, and then select the Write Data tab.
