How do I upgrade my hardware key software license to a keyless software license (LABELVIEW version 8.01 and higher)? |

Keyless software licenses are available for LABELVIEW version 8.01 and higher.
Important Notice:
Before you begin the key upgrade procedure it is highly recommended that you:- Make a back-up copy of all your label files
- Uninstall the previous version of TEKLYNX software
The following instructions should be used to migrate your license and complete your upgrade:- Install the new TEKLYNX software you have purchased BEFORE installing the key upgrade software. Your new TEKLYNX software will run for 30 days without the need to activate it. We recommend that you test the new version of software using a copy (not your back-up copy) of your label templates before continuing.
- When you are ready to activate the new software and complete the upgrade, on the PC with the hardware key from the previous version of software attached, first remove the hardware key, and then insert the Key Migration Tool CD into the CD-ROM drive. If you do not have the CD you can download the Key Migration Kit software. The wizard for the Key Migration Tool will appear.
- Follow the instructions displayed on the screen to install the Key Migration Tool.
- Once the installation is complete, reattach the hardware key to the PC. Then go to Start > Programs > Key Migration Tool > Key Migration Tool to start the Key Migration process.
- Follow the Key Migration process outlined below. You will need the Upgrade Code included in your upgrade package. At the end of the process you will receive an Activation Code to activate your new software.
- Enter the upgrade code from your upgrade package and click Next.
- The wizard will read the hardware key and print the product name and edition on screen for you to confirm that it is correct. Click Next to continue.
- A prompt will appear asking you to confirm that you wish to erase the hardware key. Click Yes to erase the key and continue.
- You will now see the new keyless software license activation code in the wizard. Be sure to copy this code and/or print out a hard copy before you close the wizard. This is the only time the new activation code will be available.
- Run your new software and activate it using your Activation Code from step 9. Please refer to your TEKLYNX software documentation for detailed instructions on activating the software.
