CODESOFT
How do I export label files from CODESOFT 7.x or 8.x for conversion to LABEL MATRIX or LABELVIEW?
The Printer Code Converter is a tool that allows users to export and import existing printer-specific label formats into editable formats for use with TEKLYNX label design packages. The Code Converter is an Enterprise edition feature in CODESOFT.

To export your existing CODESOFT label files for use with a different TEKLYNX label designer, follow the instructions below.
  1. Open the label file you would like to convert.

  2. Click the print button or select File > Print from the File menu. Enable the Print to File checkbox and click Print.

  3. The Save As dialog box will open. Save the exported label file format in a location you can easily find again on your PC.

  4. Using Windows Explorer, browse to the location you saved your label to in step 3. You will see your file in the directory with a .txt file extension.

  5. Right-click the file and select Rename. The file name will become editable. Change the .txt file extension to the file extension for the printer control language used to design your label. Labels for Datamax printers use .dpl, Sato printers use .spl and Zebra printers use .zpl.

  6. Click Enter after you have changed the file extension. Be sure to leave the dot between the filename and the file extension. You will see a warning like the one below. Click Yes to complete the file extension change.

Now you will need to import your label files into the other TEKLYNX software package. Click a link below for directions for that product:
