The Food & Drug Administration (FDA) announced the new Nutrition Facts label for packaged foods, required to be used by manufacturers for those exporting goods into the US.
The new label is in an effort to call attention to the link between diet and chronic diseases such as obesity and heart disease, and will make it easier for consumers to make better informed food choices.
The updated Nutrition Facts label incorporates the following changes:
