MicroPDF417 is based on the PDF417 and is used for small area applications. This symbol is capable of encoding up to 250 alphanumeric characters. A limited set of symbol sizes is available, together with a fixed level of error correction for each symbol size. One example of its application is in conjunction with the PDF417 symbol in the manufacturing industry.
