EAN/UCC AND RSS-14 COMPOSITES

The EAN/UCC Composite Symbology™ and RSS-14™ Composite Symbology consist of a linear symbol component and a stacked-linear 2D symbol. The 2D symbol is a variant of the MicroPDF417 symbol for the UCC-128 CC-A/B composite, and a PDF417 symbol for the others. The 2D component is printed above the linear symbol at a specified location relative to the linear symbol. The published specifications for the specific linear symbols apply.
The Composite Symbology encodes digits, uppercase and lowercase letters, and 20 selected punctuation characters. The selected punctuation characters are:
. , ? < > ! % : ; & ( ) - _ " * ' = + /

The linear input (primary data) and composite input (secondary data) are separated by a " | " (pipe character).

Example:
1234567890|This is the Composite Symbology

The linear symbol will contain "1234567890" and the composite symbol will contain "This is the Composite Symbology". When scanned, the output will read, "1234567890This is the Composite Symbology" in one continuous string with the separator.
