INTERLEAVED 2 OF 5

Also known as I 2 of 5 and 2 of 5 Code, the Interleaved 2 of 5 symbology (I 2 of 5) is a continuous, self-checking numeric symbology commonly used in industrial and some retail applications. The Uniform Code Council (UCC) recognizes the I 2 of 5 barcode for shipping container marking. Data is encoded by pairing characters together and encoding the first of the pair in five bars and the second of the pair in five interleaved spaces. This symbology is limited in that it requires an even number of digits to encode the information.

I 2 of 5 accepts the following characters:

  • Numbers 0-9
